You can enjoy baths with different spring qualities, including the brown Arima specialty "Kinsen" that contains iron and salt, and the colorless and transparent "Ginsen" that is popular with women as it makes your skin smooth. There are two public outdoor baths, Kin-no-yu (Kinsen) and Gin-no-yu (Ginsen).
