Ameyoko Shopping Street

Ameyoko is filled with bargain sales and high-spirited voices calling for customers. More than 400 shops line the bustling streets under the train tracks that connect JR Ueno Station and Okachimachi Station. It is famous for fish and crabs, but there are also many other international stores such as dry foods, sweets, shoes, clothing, miscellaneous goods, and more. Ameyoko is always lively, but the end of the year is the busiest. It's so crowded with people shopping for New Year's that they can't even move.
